I really like secular alternatives to the ten commandments. Not because I need them, but because it’s really refreshing to think that the sheer basis of humanity can be boiled down to a nice, even number. I would have gone with a dozen, ten feels a little incomplete.
I guess I really shouldn’t get mad when secular movements always feel the need to respond to religion. I’d like to think our identity isn’t defined in that way - and I guess on an individual level it isn’t - but when we try to make all of us happy as some weird pseduo movement, sacrifices have to be made.
Or something.
